Freshman BLIND Retreat
Thursday, September 12, 2019 (All Day)
The BLIND program at Dixon High school strives to assist freshmen with the transition to high school. As part of this program the entire freshmen class participates in a fall retreat with other freshmen from local high schools. The retreat which is run by student leaders from area high schools centers on the ideas of fostering teamwork, making connections, and sharing life experiences. The ultimate goal of the BLIND program and the retreat is to show freshmen how they are similar rather than different and assist them in finding support amongst themselves.
The freshmen retreat for Dixon High School will be at Westwood Sports Complex in Sterling, Illinois on Thursday, September 12th. Students will be transported to and from Westwood for this all-day retreat.
Thanks to the generosity of local business and organizations there is no cost for this retreat and lunch will be provided. The BLIND program would like to thank the community for their continued support of our program.
Please note that as this is an interactive retreat; cellphones and other electronic devices are NOT allowed. DHS and the BLIND program are not responsible for lost or damaged devices brought to the retreat.
