Available Scholarships

•The Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce is offering scholarships to students who plan to pursue a degree in the field of agriculture. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is March 1st, 2018.

•The Secretariat, in honor of Kathryn G. Hansen will award one $500 scholarship. The scholarship is to be used for tuition, books, or other related educational expenses at any university within the State of Illinois. •The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association will be awarding over 100 scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to pursue higher education during the 2018-2019 academic year. The student must be enrolling full-time at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is March 15, 2018.

•The KSB High School Healthcare Scholarship application is now available. This is a $1000 scholarship for a student who is committed to a focus of study within a healthcare field. Applications are available in the counseling office and online at www.ksbhospital.com. Application deadline is March 15, 2018.

•Kreider Alliance will be awarding up to five scholarships to graduating, Lee County, seniors who plan to enroll in an accredited college or university and pursue a degree in a field related to people with disabilities such as Human Services, PT, OT, SPT, Special Education, etc. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is March 15th, 2018.

•The Ken Helfrich Memorial Scholarship is now available. This scholarship will be awarded to one Dixon High School senior who plans to enroll as a full-time student in a college, university, military boot camp or trade school. Applicants should have displayed strong leadership in school and community during their years on the varsity football team. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is March 15, 2018.

•The Dixon Quarterback Club Cheerleading/Dance Team Scholarship is now available. This scholarship will be awarded to one Dixon High School senior who plans to enroll as a full-time student in a college, university, military boot camp or trade school. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is March 15, 2018.

•The Dixon Quarterback Club Football Scholarship is now available. This scholarship will be awarded to one Dixon High School senior who plans to enroll as a full-time student in a college, university, military boot camp or trade school. Applicants should have displayed strong leadership in school and community during their years on the varsity football team. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is March 15, 2018.

•The Dixon Kiwanis Club is offering two scholarships to seniors who plan to pursue their education at Sauk Valley Community College. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is March 16th, 2018.

•Compeer Financial is pleased to offer the 2018 High School Senior Scholarship Program. The scholarship is for a senior who has been accepted or will enroll at a university, college or community/technical college. Eligible applicants must have a 3.0 or higher GPA and have a designated agriculture major or interest in an agriculture-related field, or have an agricultural or rural background. Applications are available in the counseling office or online at www.compeer.com. Application deadline is March 16, 2018.

•Tri-County Opportunities Council Scholarships are now available. Applicants must show financial need and be planning to attend an accredited Illinois post-secondary educational institution. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is March 30th, 2018.

•The Rock River Valley VietNow has released this year’s scholarship application. All students are eligible to apply. Applications are available in the counseling office. Applications must be received, not postmarked, by March 31st, 2018.

•The CGH Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship Committee will be awarding $1000 scholarships based on the applicant’s character, academic achievement, financial need, and community service. Applicants must be entering or enrolled in a health related educational program. Applications are available in the counseling office and online at www.cghmc.com/foundation/scholarships. Application deadline is April 1st, 2018.

•The Masonic and Scottish Rite Scholarships are now available. Information about these scholarships can be found at freeportmasonictemple.org. Application deadline is April 1, 2018.

•The Phidian Art Club is now accepting applications for their 2018 scholarship. The $700 scholarship will be awarded to one graduating senior who displays excellence in the arts and intends to pursue post-secondary education in the arts. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 2, 2018.

•The Emma Hubbs Tennis Club Scholarship application is now available. Applicants must have played tennis their senior year of high school and plan to attend a post-secondary educational institution in the fall of 2018. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 2, 2018.
•Dixon Rotary is offering two scholarships to seniors. One scholarship is for students who plan to pursue a 2-year associate’s degree or certificate program. The second scholarship is for a student who plans to attend a 4-year college/university. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.
•The Jane Weaver Memorial Scholarship application is now available. This $2000 scholarship is being offered to a student who plans to pursue a degree in the areas of math, science, or music. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.

•ED SLAIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP- One (1) $2000 scholarship awarded to a student with an excellent citizenship record who has a desire to serve his/her community and has financial need. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.

•The Joyce McClintock Memorial Scholarship is being offered to a student who plans to pursue a degree in nursing with an emphasis in patient rights. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.

•DIXON PUBLIC SCHOOL FOUNDATION POST-SECONDARY SCHOLARSHIP- Through the generosity of an anonymous donor, the Dixon Public School Foundation has established a scholarship for Dixon High School students who plan on continuing their higher education at a community college, technical school, or a four year university. Applicants will be selected on the basis of need, academic performance, and extracurricular activities. The following criteria must be met to be eligible:
o Enrolled full-time at a community college, technical school, or 4 year university
o Top 50% of graduating class- (Sauk Scholars are not eligible)
o Community involvement
o Extra-Curricular Activities
o Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.

•AKE L. DAHLQUIST MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP-$1500 non-renewable scholarship awarded to a deserving DHS senior who plans to major in Engineering or Business Administration/Management at a 4 year accredited university. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and submit a typed essay (1 page minimum), explaining why he/she is the best candidate for this scholarship, his/her financial need for the scholarship, his/her reason for choosing the university, his/her goals in life after completing his/her higher education and his/her reasons for choosing engineering as his/her major of study. One letter of recommendation is required and an official transcript. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.

•Eleanor Lessner Memorial Scholarship – A $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a Dixon High School Senior who plans to pursue a degree in Business or Business Education. Preference will be given to those students attending Sauk Valley Community College. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.

•William H Jones Scholarship – A scholarship will be awarded to a senior in the top ten percent of their class who plans to attend an accredited college or university. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.
•DIXON LIONESS SCHOLARSHIP- The Dixon Lioness Scholarship for $1000 has been created to provide assistance to a Dixon student planning to major in the following Special Education areas: developmentally disabled, speech and/or hearing impaired, visually impaired, learning disabilities, and the physically challenged. (Priority will be given to those students who are hearing and/or visually impaired or who have special needs.) Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.
•DIXON EVENING LIONS- The Dixon Evening Lions will award two (2) $500 scholarships to graduates who live within the Dixon school district boundaries and who meet the following criteria:
o Have an ocular or auditory disability or are entering a course of study associated with a sight or hearing disability or a related field
o Attend an accredited college or university
o Demonstrate academic ability
o Involved in community service

•ELMER & PAULINE ADEE SCHOLARSHIP – A scholarship has been established through the generosity of Elmer and Pauline Adee to provide $500 for tuition and textbooks for a student who has graduated from Dixon High School. Basis for selection of winner:
o College studies are focused on agriculture or an ag-related field
o Scholarship ability
o School and community activities
o Financial need
o Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.






•DIXON EDUCATION ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS - Two $500 scholarships are awarded to Dixon High School seniors with a 3.0 and above who plan to enroll as full-time students in any accredited college or university. Selection is based upon financial need, scholarship, and school and community activities. Special consideration is given to DEA dependents and/or education majors. An essay detailing the applicant’s future plans is also required. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.

•Benjamin Denny Shaw Entrepreneurial Scholarship- To honor the memory of Benjamin Denny Shaw by providing a scholarship for one (1) or two (2) Dixon High School college-bound seniors who are pursuing studies in Business & Entrepreneurialism to help with freshman year college education costs. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.

•The Dolph and Karen Ricks Family Scholarship is now available. Applicants must have a 2.0 or higher GPA and must have graduated from Reagan Middle School. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.

•The Dixon Booster Club is offering four, $500 scholarships to seniors who have earned a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.

•PFLAG Sauk Valley (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays). PFLAG is pleased to announce the availability of two scholarships in the amount of $500 each. Graduating seniors who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender or who are strong allies of the LGBT community are eligible to apply. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th, 2018.

•The Reagan Run Committee is offering (6)-$500 scholarships for 3 male and 3 female graduating seniors who are continuing their education at a 2 year college, 4 year college/university or trade school. Applicants must have either participated in high school cross country, high school track or participated in one or more road races including a Reagan Run 5K. Applications are available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 6th.

•KSB Hospital has released their 2018 scholarship applications. Applicants must be entering a healthcare related field of study after graduation. Applications are available in the counseling office and online at www.ksbhospital.com. Application deadline is April 15th, 2018.

•The CGH Medical Center Constituency of Volunteers is offering $1000 scholarships to students entering a health related educational program.
