Stuff to Know
Boys Tennis 📣 - Anyone interested in Boys Tennis — practices begin March 2nd from 3:15–4:40 PM at the Emma Hubbs Tennis Courts. If you have any questions, please stop by the Athletic Office.
Baseball – Monday, March 2 is the first day of practice for Baseball. All players will meet in the big gym. Varsity will be indoors from 5-7p. Freshman/Sophomores will be from 7-9p. On Tuesday, March 3, Varsity will meet from 3-5p and Fresh/Soph 7-9p. See Coach Crawford or Coach Burgess with any questions.
DPS Music Showcase - Calling all students and staff members who sing or play a musical instrument: we invite you to register for the 3rd Annual DPS 170 Music Showcase! This is a music talent show where you or a group can perform music of any style on stage for an audience of friends, family, and community members. To sign up, scan the QR code on the flyers around the building or follow the link in your email to fill out the registration form. The showcase will be held in the Auditorium on Thursday, April 16th at 6 pm. Registration closes on Friday, March 13th. If you have any questions, please see or email Ms. Maglio.
Juniors – Dixon Petunia Festival is currently seeking applicants for their 2026 Royalty for the festival. Applicants must be a current high school Junior and have a Dixon address. Information and application can be found at https://petuniafestival.org/royalty/. The deadline to apply is March 27.
Blood Drive - Want to help save a life? Student Council has rescheduled the winter blood drive. The new date is Monday, March 2nd in the small gym from 8:00-12:30. Please consider donating blood. The blood bank is very low and your donation will help save lives. All donors will receive a small Jimmy John’s sandwich, a t-shirt, a $15 gift card sent to your e-mail, an A1C test, and snacks. If you’re at least sixteen-years-old and want to help save a life, please stop in the nurse’s office to sign up today. People need to be signed up by Friday, February 27th at the latest so adequate staffing can be made for the drive!
📣 Calling All Future Football Cheerleaders! Tryouts for next year’s football cheer team will be held March 9–12 from 4:30–6:00 PM in the DHS Cafeteria. Packet Pickup in Athletic Office.
SVCC Dual Credit Information Night - SVCC will be hosting a Dual Credit Informational Night coming up on Tuesday, April 7th from 5:30-6:30 pm. This informational night is designed for students and parents who are interested in learning more about our various dual credit opportunities. We have both in person and Zoom options available.
