As the final activity of the year, Mrs. Beck's English 10 Honors classes listened to artist and poet Dr. Gooden read selections of poetry from her book Night Forms. She also discussed what it was like growing up in Birmingham, Alabama during the Civil Rights Movement. Additionally, Honors students did an awesome job reading an original poem with Dr. Gooden that they wrote using one of her poems as a model. After the students left class, Dr. Gooden took time to autograph her second poetry book for them.

Mrs. Fitzanko’s Honors Spanish Students participated in Wooly Week 2024 at the beginning of April. During this immersive week, students were exposed to many different Spanish activities and a newly released song brought on by Sr. Wooly and his team. This year’s group of dedicated honors students won an autographed copy of the book La Casa de la Dentista signed by the famous Sr. Wooly himself! These honors students earned a total of 145 raffle tickets by participating in different events throughout this week. Wooly Week is conducted yearly with thousands of student and teacher participants across the United States. Congratulations to the Honors Spanish 1, 2, 3, and AP Students!

Madison Elementary and Reagan Middle School currently do not have power. We are working to get an estimated time to have power restored. There is a plan in place for students who eat breakfast at school. Those students should head directly to the cafeteria. We will keep everyone informed as we know more information.
